April 2007 Newsletter

The meeting was called to order by President Ed Packard. There were 29 members present and four visitors, Anita Balzer, Gayla Lowe, Elijah Packard, and Cookie.

The minutes were read with no additions or corrections. 

Treasurer’s Report:
Ferna Walters reported there is $* in the treasury.


Committee Reports:
  • Christmas Party:  The Cavaliers Christmas Party will be held December 2, 2007.  Location is yet to be determined. 
  • Shirts and Jackets: Pam Skiles will order shirts or jackets upon your request.  If any one wants to order and pick up their own shirts or jackets they can.  We order them through Ohio Valley Screenprinters at 139 West Tate Street, Lawrenceburg, Indiana (812-539-3307) or at theonly2@earthlink,net 
  • Field Meet:  Butch Royse reported that no date has been set as yet. 
  • Racetrack: Wes reported that the races will begin May 4th.  He will have schedules by the next meeting.

Road Captain:  (Jim Brady)

  • Saturday morning rides will continue; meet at Wendy's on Rt.128; bikes leave at 9:00AM, weather permitting.
  • Overnight RidesJim Brady will have more to report on the overnight trips at our next meeting.
  • Ride updates: This weekend (March 3rd & 4th) and next weekend (March 10th & 11th) is the Maple Sugar Festival at Houston Woods.  Weather permitting; this would be a nice Saturday ride.
  • National Packard Museum:  in Warren, OH, is having their annual motorcycle show from now through May. It features 30 old motorcycles.  This could be a possible overnight ride in April. If anyone is interested contact Ed Packard.  If you are interested in finding out more about this museum, their address is www.packardmuseum.org

 

Old Business:
Club dues are due by our April meeting.  Also, Butch Royse is updating our club’s AMA file so be sure he has your AMA number and the expiration date.

New Business:
Jim Jackson reported that the lodge on West Fork Rd. will be having a fish fry every Friday until Good Friday, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Cost is $7.00 per person, children 12 and younger are free.

Correspondence:
Butch reported that he has the District 11 Rider News and Minutes and the AMA News and Notes if anyone is interested in reading them.  Also, we received our AMA charter and our District 11 membership card.  The new District 11 office manager is Mitzi Barnes.

Miscellaneous:
Half & Half: Diane Packard won $43.

Ferna Walters made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  It was seconded by Margaret Davis.
 
The next meeting will be April 5, 2007 at the Round Table.
